  • Simon Learmount
    Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Judge Busienss School, University of Cambridge

    Simon Learmount is deputy director of the MBA program and director of admissions at the University of Cambridge's Judge Institute of Management in Britain. Mr. Learmount earned his MBA from Cambridge in 1996. Back then, the B-school was very different. It enrolled only 47 MBAs in a three-year program. Now it lasts just one year and enrolls 105 students.

    Mr. Learmount also holds a joint degree in modern history and French, and a PhD from Cambridge in corporate governance. After earning his MBA, he worked at the Japan Development Bank in Tokyo and joined the B-school faculty in 2000

  • Gopika Spaenlé
    Assistant Director of Marketing, MBA Programme, INSEAD

    Gopika Spaenlé heads marketing of the INSEAD MBA Programme for Asia-Pacific and is based out of the Singapore campus.? She also works closely with the admissions team, located at INSEAD’s other campus in Fontainebleau, France.

    After receiving her MBA in 2002 from IMD, Gopika Spaenlé joined Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Basel, Switzerland as part of a selective management program in marketing and sales. After starting in a global marketing role, she was recruited to Novartis Australia in Sydney where she worked in a sales and product management capacity. During her tenure as a product manager at Novartis Australia, she was responsible for a new product launch in the neuroscience field. The product was launched in April 2005, achieving 120% of the sales budget within three months and surpassing several key marketing objectives.

    Before that, Spaenlé served as an Associate Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Advisory Board Company (NASDAQ-listed), a 700-person strategic research and consulting company based in Washington, DC. where she was responsible for strategic identification of prospective clients, qualitative and quantitative analyses of the market, positioning of new products and services, and in-person negotiations with senior executives at hospitals throughout the United States and in England.

    Spaenlé holds a Master’s degree from Oxford University and a Bachelor of Arts (Magna Cum Laude) from Amherst College, Massachusetts. During her career, she has worked in five countries on four continents.

  • Seda Mansour
    Assistant Director of MBA Admissions, Stanford Graduate School of Business

    Seda Mansour is Assistant Director of Admissions and Director of International Initiatives in the MBA Admissions Office at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

    Mansour, who has worked at Stanford Business School for nearly 10 years in both Admissions and the Registrar’s office, conducts information sessions for the Graduate School of Business around the world each year. She also reviews applications along with the rest of the Stanford MBA Admissions team, which aims each year to build a class of 375 women and men with diverse interests and geographic backgrounds. At Stanford, she has had extensive experience in developing corporate and governmental relationships in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

    In addition to her career at Stanford, Mansour spent 10 years in international and cross-cultural management, including three years at Uniscape, Inc., an enterprise globalization software company, where she served as manager of international vendor and business development.

    From a tri-cultural home (her mother and father are from Latin America and the Middle East, respectively) and raised in the Middle East and the United States, Mansour has an excellent working knowledge and great appreciation of the multilingual and localization challenges facing global businesses. Her educational background includes graduate work in cross-cultural linguistics and a BA in International Business, with a focus on European commerce.

  • Thomas Caleel
    Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania

    Thomas Caleel began his career at Heritage Finance & Trust, a private financial group based in Geneva, Switzerland. As director of the Moscow Representative Office during 1995-1998, he established and built the company’s presence in this rapidly growing market. Caleel also participated in a variety of private equity transactions across several former Soviet Republics.

    Between 1998 and 2001, Caleel was a co-founder of BCI Private Capital, a holding company in Denver, CO. Through BCI, he served as managing director of international development for Caleel+Hayden, a start-up manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of premium skincare products. During his time at Caleel+Hayden, sales grew from zero to over $20 million annually, and the firm grew to 180 employees across 20 countries. While at BCI, Caleel participated in the acquisition or founding of several new product lines and new businesses and served as the interim CEO of a Russian-Swiss technology venture that delivers medical information to remote disaster areas as well as mobile phones.  Caleel currently serves as an advisor to another BCI portfolio company, Harrow Sports, a specialty sports equipment and apparel manufacturer.

    After earning his MBA from Wharton in 2003 with a major in finance, Caleel worked at Cagan McAfee Capital Partners, a silicon-valley based venture merchant banking group. Caleel served on the board of directors of several CMCP portfolio companies, both public and private, and completed private placement transactions across the life sciences, recycling, alternative fuels, and energy sectors. 

    While a student at Wharton, he was a leadership fellow, co-chair of the ethics committee, a graduate assistant in the MBA Admissions Office, a member of the dean’s graduate student advisory committee, and received the 2003 Wharton Way Leadership Award. Caleel earned a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994.

  • Pearl Mao
    MBA Director, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University

    Pearl Mao is currently MBA Director, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Prior to this role, she was Director of Career Services of the school. Pearl had extensive business and managerial experience with leading MNCs in China and abroad. Pearl recevied her MBA from Thunderbird in the US.

  • Yvonne Li
    MBA Director (Operations), CEIBS
    Yvonne Li is currently MBA Director (Operations) at CEIBS, in charge of admissions and marketing of the school's MBA program. Prior to this role, Yvonne has extensive experience in multinationals such as Lucent Technology. Yvonne is a frequent speaker in international forums on China's MBA market.

  • Julia Yang
    Vice President, Asia Growth Capital Group, The Carlyle Group

    Ms. Yang is a Vice President in the Asia Growth Capital Group, focused on growth capital investment opportunities in China. She is based in Beijing.

    Prior to joining Carlyle, Ms. Yang was an Associate at A.T. Kearney in Beijing, where she engaged in consulting projects for clinets in the financial service, pharmaceutical, IT and other sectors. Prior to that, Ms. Yang was a Senior Business Analyst in A.T. Kearney for three years.

    Ms. Yang received her MBA from Harvard Business School, and her bachelor's degree in International Finance from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

    Vijay Govindarajan, known as VG, is the Earl C. Daum 1924 Professor of International Business at the Tuck School and founding director of Tuck's Center for Global Leadership.
